Feeling good! First I have to say that I have officially made it to the bottom of my first jug o’ pond juice. I have to buy more, which is a good sign, because the first was the test jug. Since it seems to be working, this time I’m going for the big mama jug as opposed to the middle of the road jug I just finished.
The day before yesterday my son was invited to a party at a GIRL’s house on Friday. Yea for him. A costume party. He hadn’t yet decided IF he was even going to dress up prior, and if so as WHAT. Hadn’t even decided. So I’ve been (not really) trying (very hard) to put Chloe’s costume together in all this spare time I have. AND NOW I HAVE UNTIL FRIDAY TO PULL TOGETHER HIS ENTIRE COSTUME!!! Sorry, I’m OK. I’m gonna be ok. Nothing like working under pressure.
So needless to say, I spent my evening yesterday at the costume shop and at Walmart trying to piece his Michael Jackson costume together. His idea. I find it wildly amusing because he’s the whitest blonde boy you’ll ever find and has no intention of wearing any makeup aside from black eyeliner. Clever, clever boy. However, you have no idea how hard it is to find loafers!! Why Michael Jackson wore loafers I can’t even say, but he did, and apparently he’s the only person on earth to do so. I got lucky at Walmart and found a pair of work loafers on clearance in his size. Work loafers? Seriously? They are slip resistant footwear, apparently made for people who absolutely, positively don’t want to be able to do the moonwalk while they’re working. Lest they get the urge. So we have to try to use the belt sander or something to take off the little non-slip nubbies from the bottom of these things. Our costumes are nothing if not comical. Yes, he does NEED to be able to do the moonwalk. Did I mention that there will be GIRLS at this party? Meanwhile, the hubby found me a black sequined jacket at the resale shop. It’s more Liza Minelli to me than Michael Jackson, but I’m pretty sure that I can rework it to be perfect. I hope that I can do it by Friday. I need to do it by Friday. Oh boy.
Take some socks and paint them to look like loafers and then the moonwalk should not be a problem. Your children always have great costumes, thats why they are always winning contests….Great work to the mom and dad
