Well, I just wanted to pop in and say ‘hey! it’s been ages.’
This month on instagram I finally participated in a photo a day challenge. I’m sure I messed up the hash tags on the photos and sent my pics to a bunch of places they shouldn’t be, but if I post “something awesome” I will have successfully completed the task as of tomorrow. Thank God, because I’m not much of a closer.
It was an interesting endeavor for me, because 1) I don’t like to bossed, 2) I don’t like to have daily obligations whether they’re enjoyable or not, and 3) I am a commitment phobe. I appreciate the fact that it made me more conscious of the need for daily creativity, but at times it felt almost stifling. I found that rather than feeding my IG stream with what I find to be beautiful or inspiring, I photographed what I was told to photograph and nothing more. So, bleh! Down with the obligatory one photo a day.
Although… I see the merit. I may end up following a photoaday project in the future and selectively participating, because in the end it’s sort of fun to be a joiner sometimes. Also, for anyone interested, my instagram feed is @thetinytyrant.
On another note, it’s September, y’all! What happened to summer? I think I missed my August! So whatcha been doing? I have a lot to catch up on!
